There are many households that do not have basic income support so they are not being able to finance their day-to-day expenditures. For all those people the government of West Bengal has launched the West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide basic income support to the female heads of the family.

The government of West Bengal has launched West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme in order to provide basic income support to the female heads of the family. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide Rs 500 per month to general category families and Rs 1000 per month to SC/ST families. Nearly 1.6 crore households of West Bengal will benefit from this scheme. This Scheme has been launched by keeping in mind the state’s monthly average consumption expenditure of a household which is Rs 5249. With the help of the financial support provided through this scheme, 10% to 20% of the monthly expenditure of a beneficiary will be covered. The benefit amount under this scheme will be directly deposited into the bank account of the beneficiaries.

Objective of WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

We all know that there are many families who do not have basic income to run their activities, and this creates a lot of problems for them to live their life. Keeping this problem in mind, the Government of West Bengal has made a new scheme which is known as Laxmi Bhandar Scheme. The main objective of starting this West Bengal Laxmi Bhandar Scheme is to provide basic income support to the female head of the family to run their day to day activities. With the help of this scheme, the head of the family will become self-reliant and this will strengthen the economy of the state.

Separate Counters To Apply Laxmi Bhandar Scheme

The government has also set up dedicated counters for the application of this scheme at Duare Sarkar camps. Swasthya Sathi scheme and caste certificate are the second and third most sought-after schemes respectively after the Laxmi Bhandar scheme. The Duare Sarkar initiative was launched last January in order to deliver government services at the doorsteps of citizens of West Bengal. The most number of applications were received from South 24 Parganas. A total of 471887 applications were received from South 24 Parganas in the first two days for all the schemes. WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme Rules And Guidelines

The guidelines and rules for West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar scheme have been announced by the government of West Bengal. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide a monthly allowance of Rs 500 to poor families. Families who belong to scheduled caste and scheduled Tribes will get a monthly allowance of Rs 1000. The eligibility and other criteria in order to get the benefit of the scheme have been issued by the department of women and child development and social welfare on 30th July 2021. This scheme will come into force from 1st September 2021. It has to be noted that this scheme was a part of the election manifesto of Trinamool Congress.

All the eligible female heads of the family will get basic income support under this scheme. The financial benefit will be directly transferred into the bank account of the beneficiary. Around 1.60 households of West Bengal will benefit from this scheme.

The amount of benefit under this scheme will be provided from September 2021.
Beneficiaries can get free Application form from the government camps which are held across the state.
Applicant can make apply from 16th August 2021 to 15 September 2021.
All the applicants are required to submit all the required documents which include Aadhar card, bank account passbook along with the application form.
Those families who have at least one tax paying member cannot apply under this scheme.
General category women who have more than 2 hectare of land also can not apply under this scheme.
The benefit amount will be directly credited into the bank account of the beneficiary.
The aadhaar number of the beneficiary should be linked with the bank account.
Those women of West bengal who are permanent residents and whose age is between 25 to 60 years can apply under this scheme.
Womens who are having permanent jobs in private and government sector cannot take the benefit of this scheme.
Casual workers can also apply under this scheme.

Benefits And Features Of West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

The government of West Bengal has launched West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana.
Through this scheme, financial support will be provided to the female head of the family.
The financial support will be Rs 500 per month for general categories and Rs 1000 per month for SC and ST categories.
1.6 crore households of West Bengal will get benefit from this scheme.
This scheme has launched keeping in mind the state monthly average consumption expenditure of a household of Rs. 5249.

West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar scheme was also part of the election manifesto of Trinamool Congress.
The implementation of this scheme will start from 1st July 2021.

Eligibility Criteria

If you want to get the benefit of the WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme started by the Government of West Bengal then you have to fulfill the eligibility given below:-

Those families whose at least one taxpayer member cannot apply under Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme for general category by the Government of West Bengal.
Under Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme New Form, all those citizens of the general category who have more than 2 hectares of land will not be given the benefit.
If you want to get the benefit of WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme then you must be a citizen of West Bengal.
Under the WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme, all the families of SC and ST category can apply.
