For this purpose, both the central and state governments are launching various types of schemes so that every citizen of India can get the right to his property. Today we are going to tell you about a scheme launched by the Punjab Government by the name of Punjab Mera Ghar Mere Naam Yojana. Through this scheme, property rights will be provided to the people living in houses within the Lal Dora of villages and cities.

The Chief Minister of Punjab launched the Punjab Mera Ghar Mere Naam scheme on 11 October. This scheme has been launched to give property rights to people living in houses located within Lal Dora of villages and cities. Around 12700 villages will be covered under this scheme. Lal Dora is basically a village or town settlement consisting of a group of houses where residents live. The residents of Lal Dora did not have ownership rights but this scheme would give them ownership rights. For this, the Revenue Department will conduct drone survey in rural and urban areas for digital mapping. The entire process of granting property rights will be completed within 2 months.

Mera Ghar Mere Naam Scheme launched

There is good news for the state of Punjab as a new state school has been started by the name of “Mera Ghar Mere Naam Yojana”. This scheme has been started to solve the problems of the people. The cabinet minister of the Punjab government has only worked for the development of the state and is currently involved in the matters of reforming and solving the problems of the common man of the state. Drones are being used in villages and many other sub-divisions of villages. These mark houses, conduct door-to-door surveys and prepare all the information for the government in a timely manner. The public would be asked for their views, and then the landlords would be given certificates to prove their ownership.

Verification and allotment of property card

Proper verification of eligible residents will be done after completing the survey. After that the property card will be handed over to the beneficiaries. 15 days will be given to file the objection before handing over the property card. In this regard, if no reply is received from them, the property card will be issued which will serve the purpose of a registry against which the property owner can get loan from the bank and also sell his property. Apart from this, people who have been living in houses in old areas for a long time will also be covered under this scheme. The scheme is basically an extension of the Centre’s ownership scheme.

NRIs will also be informed to raise objections so that they can be given property rights. Apart from this, to protect the property rights of NRIs settled across the world, the Chief Minister is also going to bring a law to prevent illegal or fraudulent sale of their properties.

Objectives of Punjab Mera Ghar Mere Naam Scheme

The main objective of implementing Mera Ghar Mere Naam scheme by the Punjab Government is to provide ownership rights to the people living in houses within the “red streak” of villages and cities. Under this scheme, people living within the red line will be able to sell their property and get ownership rights and take a loan on their house.

  • Applicant must be a citizen of Punjab.
