Objective of Chhattisgarh Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme

The objective of the state government is to make available all types of medicines at affordable prices to all citizens by starting the Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme. Through these medical stores, even the poorest of the poorest citizens of the country can buy good quality medicines at cheap rates. Citizens getting their treatment under this scheme can get discount ranging from 50.09% to 71% on generic medicines.

Discounts on medicines given through medical stores will be given on MRP only. The scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of the state Shri Bhupesh Baghel ji through video conferencing. Through the CG Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme, the state government aims that any citizen of the country should remain without medicine due to lack of money. There are many such medicines which patients have to take more daily. If they are left even for a day, it has very terrible side effects.

To get rid of this problem, the CG Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme has been implemented by the Chhattisgarh State Government in the entire state. By calling the medical store, you can find out whether the medicine you are operating from is available in the store or not.

Launch of Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store

This scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh State Shri Bhupesh Baghel ji on 20 October 2021 i.e. on Wednesday. The launch program of CG Shree Dhanwantri Medical Store Scheme has been completed online digitally. Addressing the people of the country, the Chief Minister made a statement that through generic medical stores all the names of the state can also get discounts ranging from 50% to 71% on medicines.

The program of launch of the scheme was done by the Chief Minister from his official residence. The Chief Minister said that the poor people of our state are still not able to buy expensive medicines. It has been seen many times that due to the disease being big and fatal, the rate of medicines for their treatment is also very expensive.

Our government wants that medicines should be made available to all the citizens at affordable prices so that their lives can be saved and they can attain longevity. The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government is working to provide good and quality health services to the poor citizens at affordable prices.

Implementation of CG Shri Dhanwantri Medical Store

Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme will be implemented in the entire state under the Department of Urban Administration and Development, Government of Chhattisgarh. The state government aims to open Dhanwantri generic medical stores in every district of the state at the earliest so that poor people do not have to buy expensive medicines.

As per official records around 188 Shree Dhanwantri Jayanti Medical Stores will be opened in the state. All these medical stores will be looked after by the central government. For monitoring, the government will create a new department, under which the officers posted in it will be given responsibility. The authorities will have to take special care that all the life saving medicines can be made available to all the poor citizens at affordable prices.

Citizens will be able to buy 27 types of surgical products as well as about 251 types of generic medicines in all Shree Dhanwantri generic medicine stores. Apart from this, all organic medicines, herbal products brought from forests and all items like cosmetics or baby food will be available at the generic drugstore.
