Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to start Annadoot Yojana to connect the youth of his state with self-employment. Under this scheme, the youth will be entrusted with the task of delivering food items to the fair price ration shops of the state. For which the government will identify youth through collectors and provide them vehicle loans on their guarantee from banks. 3% interest subsidy will also be given by the state government on this loan. Under this scheme 1000 vehicles with the capacity to transport 6 to 8 tonnes of food grains will be procured to the youth. It is through these vehicles that the food items will be transported to the ration shops from the warehouses of the State Civil Supplies Corporation.

At present, food items are being distributed to 1 crore 18 lakh families through 26 thousand fair price ration shops in the state, in which 3 lakh tonnes of food items reach the shops every month through Civil Supplies Corporation transporters. In which there are complaints of many scams and action is also taken by the government. Keeping all these things in mind, the government has formulated the policy of Annadoot Yojana.

Youth will be paid at the rate of ₹ 65 per quintal
Under the Madhya Pradesh Annadoot Yojana, the Civil Supplies Corporation will pay for the transportation of food grains at the rate of ₹ 65 per quintal. In which the transporters will have to deduct other expenses including diesel, driver. This rate of Rs 65 per quintal has been fixed by the central government. Out of which half of the amount will be borne by the Central Government and half by the State Government. In Madhya Pradesh, 120 transporters lift food grains from 223 centers to reach the fair price ration shops. Most of the districts in the state have only one transporter.
Purpose of Annadoot Yojana
The main objective of the state government to start this scheme in Madhya Pradesh is to connect the youth with self-employment. Under Annadoot Yojana, the youth will be given the task of delivering food items to fair price ration shops. As you know, transportation is required to deliver food items. Therefore, the state government itself will provide loans to the youth through banks to buy transport on its own guarantee and will also give a grant of 3% on this loan. Annadoot scheme on one hand will connect the youth of the state with self-employment and on the other hand the civil supplies corporation will end the scam done by the transporters.
