Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has launched the Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Yojana on Friday, August 26, 2022. The announcement to set up this scheme was made during the budget 2022-23 through the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council. Rajasthan is the second state after Telangana in the country where Mahila Nidhi has been established. Through this scheme, loans will be given to self-help groups to do industry and to take the industry forward. Under this scheme, loans up to ₹ 40000 will be credited to the group bank account of the member applied for within 48 hours and loans above ₹ 40000 within 15 days.

Presently, 2 lakh 70 thousand self-help groups have been formed in 33 districts of the state. In which 30 lakh families have participated. It is proposed to form 50,000 self-help groups in the session 2022-23, in which 6 lakh families will be connected. That is, the benefit of Mahila Nidhi Yojana will be provided to 36 lakh families of the state in a phased manner, loans will be made available for doing industries for their needs.

Objective of Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Yojana
The main objective of this scheme is to provide easy loans to women self-help groups of Rajasthan for entrepreneurship and for furthering business. This scheme will promote women empowerment in the state and generate employment opportunities in the state. Women self-help groups of the state will be strengthened through Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Yojana, they will be provided easy loans from banks, income of poor, propertyless and marginal women will increase. Due to which there will be economic progress of women in the society. Addressing the state-level function organized on Women’s Equality Day, the Chief Minister said that only laws are not enough to improve the condition of women, there is a need to change social thinking to treat them equally. With this thought, Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Yojana has been started by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Benefits and features of Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Yojana
- The Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi Yojana has been launched by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot while addressing the state-level function organized on August 26, 2022, on Women’s Equality Day.
- During the budget 2022-23 in the state, it was announced to set up this scheme through the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council.
- Under this scheme, easy loans will be made available to self-help groups for entrepreneurship and for expanding business.
- Loans up to ₹40000 will be credited to the group bank account of the member applied for in 48 hours and loans above ₹40000 will be credited within 15 days.
- 270000 self-help groups have been formed in 33 districts of Rajasthan, in which 30 lakh families are involved.
- In the financial year 2022-23, 50,000 more new self-help groups will be formed, in which 6 lakh families will be added.
- That is, in total, 36 lakh families of Rajasthan will be provided loans for entrepreneurship as per their requirement in a phased manner through this scheme.
- The Chief Minister says that this scheme will prove to be a milestone for the economic progress of women.
