Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana 2024
Last year, the caste census conducted in Bihar revealed that there are about 94 lakh families in the state who are living below the poverty line and their family monthly income is less than Rs 6000. This includes families of every class. Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana has been launched by Nitish government to provide employment to all these poor families. Through this scheme, one member of every poor family will be given an assistance of Rs 2 lakh. This scheme is being operated by the Industries Department. Under which benefits will be given to people of all sections i.e. general category, extremely backward class, SC ST category families.

Poor and unemployed families of the state can apply online to start enterprises in 62 types of different projects under this scheme. It is being claimed by the Chief Minister that poverty will be eliminated in the state within the next 5 years. For which all 94 lakh families will be given the benefit of this scheme within 5 years. Under this scheme, applications will be accepted only through online process.

Financial assistance will be provided in the form of 3 installments
- A total of 25% amount will be provided under the first instalment.
- Total 50% amount will be given under second installment.

- Documents related to age verification (Matriculation certificate with date of birth / Birth certificate / PAN card / Aadhar card)

- Caste certificate
- Monthly family income certificate* (issued by the zonal office)
- Bank statement/canceled cheque/passbook* (containing account number and IFSC code)

- Disability certificate (as required) etc.
Eligibility for Laghu Udyami Yojana
- To avail the benefits of Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana, the applicant must be a resident of Bihar state.
- Under this scheme, poor and unemployed families of all sections will be eligible to apply.
- The monthly income of the applicant’s family should be less than Rs 6,000.
- Only one member of the family whose age is between 18 to 50 years will be eligible to apply.
- Beneficiaries who have received the benefit of Chief Minister Udyami Yojana will not be eligible for this scheme.
