Madhya Pradesh government has launched food vehicles under Deendayal Rasoi Yojana on 7 October 2023. The aim of this scheme is to provide a full meal to laborers and the needy near their workplace for Rs 5.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself flagged off the food vehicles under Deendayal Rasoi Yojana. It is noteworthy that assembly elections are to be held in Madhya Pradesh in November 2023.

About Deendayal Rasoi Yojana
On this occasion, CM Chouhan said, “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay considered the poor as God and as per his mantras, many schemes are being run in Madhya Pradesh to serve such people. Poor people can now buy food at subsidized rates. Through this scheme, migrant workers and other needy citizens can get a full meal near their workplace.
Deendayal Rasoi Yojana is a big step to ensure that needy people get nutritious food and no one sleeps hungry. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that a large part of the daily earnings of laborers coming to cities for work is spent on food, but now they will get fresh food at their workplace for only Rs 5, which will save their money and time.

Per capita grant under Deendayal Rasoi Yojana
The state government has made arrangements to provide a grant of Rs 10 per person under the Deendayal Rasoi Yojana. The subsidized meal scheme was launched on February 7, 2017 at 56 centres, including the district headquarters and six major religious places.

Time to provide food at Deen Dayal Rasoi for Rs 5
The food vehicles under the Deendayal Rasoi Yojana, each costing around Rs 25 lakh, have the facility to keep food warm. Thalis will be made available at the rate of Rs 5 per plate every day from 10 am to 3 pm.
Three such food vehicles will operate in Bhopal, four in Indore, two each in Gwalior and Jabalpur, and one each in 12 municipal corporations and two industrial cities – Pithampur and Mandideep. Officials said that gradually, such mobile food centers will be launched in 68 municipal bodies with population of more than 20,000.
