The Jal Sakhi Yojana has been started under the Har Ghar Nal Yojana run by the Central Government. The smooth operation of this scheme will be done by the Women Self Help Groups of the Gram Panchayat. Under the UP Jal Sakhi Yojana, in the first phase, about 20000 women / girls of the state will be appointed as Jal Sakhi. In which the first priority will be given to the women connected through the Women Self Help Groups. This scheme will provide employment to poor women living in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. Objective of Jal Sakhi Scheme
