Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Khel 2024

Government of Rajasthan is going to organize Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Khel from 05 August to promote sports talent in rural areas in its state and show its talent to the athletes present there. This event is being organized at Gram Panchayat, Block, District and State level. In this sports program, six games in which Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Shooting Ball, Volleyball, Tennis and Ball Cricket will be organized.

The responsibility of organizing this event by the state government has been given to Sadulpur MLA and Sports Council President Krishna Poonia ji, who won gold medal in disc throw in Commonwealth Games 2010. For Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Khel, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot ji has approved a budget of Rs 40 crore which will be given to Sports Department and Education Department.

Games to be organized under Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Khel

6 games will be organized in this sporting event which are as follows.

Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Khel will be organized in four levels

This event will be organized at four levels (gram panchayat, block, district and state level) in the state. First of all, the Games will be organized on 29th August at the Gram Panchayat. Then the block level games will be organized on 12 September. After this, district level sports competitions will be organized for 4 days from 22 September. Lastly, state level sports competitions will be organized on 2nd October. 30 lakh players have applied to participate in the Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Games. In which 20 lakh male players and about 10 lakh female players are included. According to the applications, the maximum number of 11 lakh players have applied to play Kabaddi.

Objective of Rajasthan Gramin Olympic Games

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji’s main objective of starting this sporting event is to provide a chance to the talented athletes from rural areas of the state to show their talent. Because many times talented athletes miss to show their talent due to their financial condition and age limit. But through the Rajasthan Gramin Olympic game, players of all ages of all the villages of the state can show their sports talent. That is, in this scheme from children studying in schools to the old age of 100 years can take part. Through this event, grandfather, grandson and uncle and nephew can come together in the playing field. Due to which the spirit of family sports will be developed in the state.

Committees were constituted at the Gram Panchayat and Block level.

Different committees have been constituted by the state government for organizing sports events at 11 thousand 341 gram panchayats and 352 block levels. The convenor of these committees will be the Sarpanch and the convener of the committees formed at the block level will be the sub-divisional officer. Along with this, a budget of Rs 10 crore 38 lakh has been earmarked for the gram panchayats for food, transportation and other facilities of the participating players and Rs 7 crore for the block level event.

It is mandatory for the applicant player to be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
Only the players residing in the rural areas of the state are eligible to apply under this scheme.
From children studying in schools to 100 years old citizens can apply under this scheme.
